I won't claim to be an audiophile but I do have some interesting stuff.

1. dbx 5bx, I think they only made 1,000 of these worldwide.
2. Sweet tubed McIntosh 2102 (2x100 watts) amp for my top horn
3. dbx BX-1 for my bass horn (bridged at something like 450 x 2)
4. For those who know of the Klipschorn, PWK set out to refine it and make it better. He succeded to such a degree he named the new model the "Klipschorn Jubilee". Sadly, he died soon after and the HOME version of the Jubilee died with him. There has been chatter about getting them out and finally a friend of mine and myself bought the first two pair of 2-way Jubilees in the world. There has since been a pair sold to a guy (Ralph) in London England, Bob in Washington state and now, Dean in Dayton Ohio. (Mike & I both live in the Knoxville, TN area) so today, there are now 5 pair in the world (that are in a residential situation as opposed to a cinema location)

Specs are something like 109 dbW sensativity and all I gotta say is these things are freaking incredible. All the clarity & dynamics of horns, all the benefits of 2 way verses 3 (or more) way and that very intimidating horn on top which sounds fantastic. wife has asked me to turn it down before and the meters on my 2102 were PEAKING at .01 watts  Of course, when she's not home, I can stretch their legs a bit more

Invite: If there is anyone who cares to audition, you are welcome to my house. I've had guys from Nashville twice, a guy from Lexington, a different guy from Lexington pending for later this month, Knoxville, Knoxville and Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Atlanta, Atlanta, Athens (Georgia) and the crown goes to Mike from Staton Island, NY who drove down and heard them.

It's a legit offer if someone wants to hear a speaker that will absolutely STEP all over a Klipschorn AND has 1/3'rd the distortion!! In other words, the Khorn which is KNOWN for its low distortion, has 3 TIMES the distortion of the Jubilee... they really hit this one out of the ballpark.

No comments allowed about it being plug ugly... she has a GREAT personality!!! :D

A little station fade in the mountains mowing the fields, but heck, what do you want for $19.99 ;) :) :D

Mine must be better :p , I paid $49 for mine. The fade is lessened if you learn to cock your head certain ways.

Richard

I used to do horns (JBL 4430) but found that I like cone drivers better. I also have a 3bx sitting on a shelf somewhere.

my subs are powered by Crown K2's at 800w per channel. My main amp for my B&W800's is a Musical Fidelity KW500 at 500per channel Surrounds are on a Proceed HPA3 at 250w X3. CD/DVD/SACD/DVDA fed from a Denon 3910 with a Musical Fidelity Tube buffer and DAC. I use Ashly xr1001 for sub crossovers.

I also have other systems through out the house.
Kitchen: Denon receiver and sony slim dvd/cd B&W CM4's

Living room: Denon 3805 receiver Yamaha mk2 DVD/CD B&W MT20 5.1 surround.

Shop : Denon mini system

In resoration JBL 250Ti's
lots of extra equipment on shelves.

Unfortunately I live to far to come and audition your system but I am sure it sounds wonderful. I do tend to stretch the legs of my theater system from time to time but last time I was stretching a bit father than normal and sent a plant off of the shelves upstairs and made a BIG mess.

I would invite anyone who would like to hear my system to pm me and I would be more than happy to audition it for you.

Shane

Awesome Richard, awesome. My wife would make me put that out in the Barn...which would be the only place I could turn it up a bit and JAM!!!

What type of music do you usually play? I really like some old YES stuff that pushes the horns in my old JBL L200's. I have a McIntosh 2205 driving them. I bought it used 26 years ago when I was 20. Still works pretty good. Speakers have been professionally reconed.

Shane, you have got a heck of a system "nicey nestled" into that room.

I only get to turn mine up when everyone is gone...otherwise, I only play my $20 shower radio loud ...

BTW guys, My barn is insulated and the climate is relatively temperate. Do you think the humidity would seriously ruin everything?

I would be very cautious about the speakers in humidity. It really tends to be hard on them. Makes the joints spread that kind of stuff.

I am not sure if you have ever been to Lansing Heritage Forums - Powered by vBulletin

It is a JBL/Altec forum. There are some very knowlegable people there if you wanted to know more about your L200's.

Congrats!!:)

I run Adcom GFA 555 Power Amp into a GTP500 II Pre-Amp. I used to have a great set of Klipsch Chorus Speakers, they were great in college, but the wife declared them too large for the house. She was probably right, especially since my good gear is now in my home office. Traded the Klipsch's in on a pair of Energy Pro Series 4.5's. They are nice, but somewhat overwhelmed by the power of the Adcom.

In the family room, I run a Denon 687 7.1 Receiver and JBL Sub/Surrounds. In my office at work is my old Kenwood receiver running a pair of Genesis 11's. I really love the old Genesis Speakers. If I could find a decent set of 44's for the right price, I'd have a hard time passing on them.
