I demo'ed the Bobcat Flail mower at my place a few years ago. It was delivered on a ToolCat with standard, not high flow, hydraulics as I recall.
I was green (inexperienced), never having looked at a tractor before, when this combination was presented to me. The main impression I recall was that the flail appeared huge (as in bulky) and was incredibly heavy-- I think it weighs 1550 pounds/700 kilos or so. I used it for brush mowing thru five foot tall grass & weeds. That was no challenge, of course, it chowed right through.
For my purposes I wanted to clear several fields, then keep them mowed nicely, and also wanted to develop many walking trails up and down hills through the woods. For my specific needs, and for similar money, I ended up buying the narrower (60") Bobcat Brushcat plus the Bobcat near finish mower instead and I've been happy with them both. The near finish mower is so light and maneuverable, I use it comparably to my zero turn radius mower.
I have a boom arm flail mower and I like it a lot. I still have a lot of fields to mow and I do sometimes wonder what the quality of the cut would be with high flow on the Bobcat flail. Can anyone add to this?
