I use a large (13000# cap.) forklift to lift smaller nonoperable forklifts off of flatbed semi trailers quite often. I have 8' long forks which are hydraulicly adjustable from inside the cab. I sometimes have to lift and reposition a machine several times before lifting it clear of the trailer (with no one else anywhere near the load!!!!).....to get the balance right........What bothers me about the picture is what was going to happen when they set the load off the upper machine...........I see a tire on the counterweight of the toyota probably to add more counterbalance but when they take that load off the upper machine's forks................ LOOK OUT !!!! A previous reply noted the lack of hard hats...........From the looks of what is about to happen a hard hat is going to be the least of their problems..........MAXIMUM STUPIDITY !!!!!! ............Tom

Once they actually deposited the machine up on that platform, then what were they gonna do? How were they going to back the forks on the middle forklift out from under the load?

I'd think they'd have to do all the maneuvering with the forklift on the ground. If so, why are there 2 guys on the middle forklift?

Of course, perhaps that's what they're discussing. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My take on this -- the guy in the blue shirt, toward the front, is there to operate the controls. The other guy? I think he's more ballast. He's also the one that's toast if the rig comes apart! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
