With all the recent discussion of powering various "bells and whistles" on tractors, especially the BX's, I thought I'd post a couple pics of my solution to the power crunch. I recently added a Curtis Cab to my BX-23 along with a couple of mag-mount floodlights and was concerned about the current draw off of the magneto.
I went ahead and tried the floodlights and wiper all at the same time and they seemed to work great together. Nevertheless, I could see that there would be times when more power would be nice. I considered the alternator upgrade but I already had a Honda EU1000 generator/inverter hanging around. My neighbor welded a bracket for me that fit the generator perfectly and attached it to the footwell and "boom retention pin" on the hoe. The whole bracket comes off by removing two small fasteners on the footwell. This particular generator (as do many) has a 12v output that is rated for 8A so I have the option of keeping my present 12v lights or going with 110v lights. I really like the 12v lights and am planning on staying with those.
