On the flip side, I've had people trespass on my property to cut and remove firewood. The huge trees next to houses are ridiculous, but I bet there are some people that would cut wood for free.

I don't think a total cleanup would happen, but the home owner could at least get the bulk of a tree removed.

I did see a residential area where it looked like a guy had pruned the trees on his property. He had a small pile of sticks about one inch in diameter with a for sale sign. :)

Sounds like the guy that didn't want to pay the epa disposal fee on some old tires.
He just put them on the curb with a for sale sign. Next thing you know, someone stole it.

What gets me is that people will call a jumble of logs "firewood." It isn't firewood until its cut and maybe split. I once bought a house in a nice suburb and the listing highlighted that two cords of firewood came with the house. It turned out to be a pile of 2' diameter pine logs that would never fit in a fireplace even if you wanted to burn pine. I asked if they were going to clear out the pile of trash so they could bring in the firewood. They were confused. We bought the house regardless since it was a trivial matter but just goes to show how stupid things can get.

I put out a string trimmer. Sign on it said that it was put away years ago with fuel in it, had a bag of new string for it and some of those rotating swing knifes to fit it. "FREE". Gone the nexst morning but the bag of parts were carefully left next to the sign.

It doesn't say anything about cleaning up or not leaving a stump. Maybe someone wants just part of it :D

Our area has a privately run list server for use by the community. People ask for contractor references, doctors, put stuff up for sale, ask to buy things, community events, and of course, politics. It is a really good resource. People will post "free firewood" and then mention it is a tree if a difficult location that needs to be cut down and cleaned up. Some people do offer real firewood some of it fairly priced and some well over priced.

The wifey was searching for older, inexpensive steel sail boats. She found a 20 year old boat with an asking price of $15,000. The boat had been SUNK. :confused3: They are showing many photos of what the boat USED to look like. As well as photos with the flooded out cabin. The boat will have to be completely gutted down to the hull and rebuilt. The ad talks about the engine, shows decent in the photos but if the engine went underwater and was not immediately treated after the boat was hauled out, the engine is trash as is everything in the cabin. Yet, they want $15K for the boat.:laughing::laughing:

The only value of the boat is as a project boat to completely rebuild assuming the hull plating is in good shape. I figure the boat might be worth $2,000. Not sure if they should pay me or I should pay them. :D:D:D:D
