I have a Scotts 17.542 lawn tractor (17.5hp). The piddly hitch hole is bent. I am looking for ideas on making a better/ stouter hitch for the rear that will be very sturdy and a bit higher. Or if anyone knows of a place that sells them.

Thanks

I believe that John Deere makes the Scotts lawn tractor. Maybe check with a JD dealer and see what they have to say. G

I would try to straighten what Scott's has already given you and then weld a support with a hole in it just underneath the original bracket.

Buy the sleeve hitch accessory, this allows you to use ground engaging implements, as well as, provide a better/stronger towing point. Check out Scott's

That sleeve hitch is exclusively for the 2554. That was the only tractor in the line-up with a transmission rated for ground engaging implements.

TSC has what looks like a universal hitch. Good point on the transmission, you don't want t over-work it.
