Hitching up 3pt Attachments ?

I'll probably slip into 'lurk' mode in this thread at this point.

It started out as an attachment thread.. and is now heading down the slippery slope of becoming a 'my brand is better than your brand' type thread... as we all know.. those usually erupt into the same kind of debates as HST vs Gear.. and other hot topics...

SoundGuy,

OK, I guess I was mistaken -- I didn't realize that this topic was limited only to farm tractors -- I thought it was a about a "feature" that is shared with farm tractors -- the 3pt hitch.

I reiterate, based on my experience with these forums, and with several tractors of different types and sizes, that IMO there are many more users here who would be "better-equipped" with PTs than with farm tractors (new or old) and in most cases, with the common CUTS/SCUTs discussed here... Just because a PT doesn't meet your needs, or your Florida farm neighbors, doesn't mean it wouldn't meet the needs of many (I think most) of the users here.

BTW, I have first-hand experience with some of the same models you own -- can you say the same about PTs?

The 3-pt hitch was a great technology in the early 1950s when it was invented. So was black and white television... My whole point in posting was to perhaps encourage some folks to "think outside the box" of 1950s technology. Someone else had already posted an "upgrade" to that technology, and I presented a different alternative. That's all....

Enjoy your old farm tractors. I thoroughly enjoy my old garden tractors -- just as much as I enjoy my PT.

back in the ring for a brief sec..

Again.. I think you are missing a distinction between my specific message.. and about this thread in general.

MY POST.. refered only, and exclusively as I keep trying to point out.. to farm duties..

I'm not sure that I brought up '3pt hitch'... must have been someone else.

Again.. I'm not debating the fact that a PT may be great for somebody ( other than me ).. I'm specifically limiting my comments to my prevous 2 posts, and your response to those posts.. not -any- other psts here.

If you would like to discus those specific points.. lets do it..

I'v not driven a PT brand mini loader/ tool carrier. I have driven other min loader / tool carriers. I don't believe the one I drove that most closely resembles the PT had independent hydro motors vs a 'standard' drivetrain..etc.

I'm not here to debate the 3pt hitch. As i said.. you must be confusing my post with somebody else... I didn't bring that topic up.

If you would like to discuss something which I said in my 2 previous posts, lets do it.. otherwise, I'm going back to lurking and let you get back to extoling the virtues of those machines you like. I purposefully made my comments to be very specific.. to avoid broad and vauge depate just like this.... as they tend to go critical mass over time...

I've personally nothing against them. ..I just don't plan on owning one at the current time. As I said in my last post.. if they fit the need.. then they are a good machine.

Have a great one.

I believe I am confused. I'm trying to limit my comments to my, now 3 previous posts, and your replies to those posts... 3pt equipment was not a topic in my previous posts... that's why i was wondering why you were trying to inject them in the replies? ? ? Red herring??? or ???

this tangent doesn't do much for this thread.. if you want, reply to me via PM if you'd like to converse further on my posts and your replies.
