In the good old days, there were times when all it took was a couplea sticks of grey powder...Not tractoring but took care of business for sure...Be careful.
Just a follow-up post. My father-in-law came up a few weekends ago with his Case 580 and finished off this stump for me. It was a good thing, because after he fished it out, my BX couldn't even dream of lifting it. He also finished off another stump I had been working on, and when he picked this one up with the backhoe and lifted the stabilizers to try driving away with it still in the hoe, the machine started tipping from the weight of this stump. If it was picking up the front end of a fullsize machine, I doubt my baby BX could have lifted that one either.
The best thing to come out of this was that I discovered that I have very nice, clean soil out back of my house after I dig down a foot or so. This is working out well for a new yard project.
