I have a 2yr old JD4100 with loader. What can I do to dig holes besides a shovel and sweat? Is there a solution considering the 4100 does not have a backhoe?

Depends on how bigger hole your talking.
Post hole digger can help,and some places even rents the attachment.

you can put teeth on the bucket, that helps a lot.
but i would go with the post hole digger that was previously mentioned if you are looking to dig a round hole.

Depends on how much $$$ you want to spend on the hole. You can get an aftermarket back hoe for the 4100, I've seen them but can't recall the make etc. I do know they are $$$$
