The minute you pay him the last installment of the loan I promise you will never see this person again. Have an inspection done if you feel you need to. But if you have a list of issues you want resolved, get them fixed before you pay the payment.
Terms say you need to pay him at intervals during the build. The final payment at final means both you and he agree that it's finished. I know from experience.
