There was too much play in the pivot so I welded a 1" steel pipe sleeve in the box beam. Works great.

Just curious. I have been wanting to build one of these also....but I am stuck on what I am going to do about the rakes teeth. What have you got in mind to use for this?

Oops...sorry about the stupid question. I see you bought them. Probably what I will have to do. Right now I am building a front end scoop for my X475 then I will start on an aereator.

For your drilling problem try the Mcmaster Carr catalog page 2260 for step drills. We use them regularly and have had good luck with them.

Don't forget to post your projects when they start. I would have never attempted to make a rake or anything if I didn't have the inspiration from others making their own stuff. This is an invaluable web site.

Great. I've seen these but didn't have any experience with them. Thank you. I'm trying to figure out a way to scam a drill press out of my wife. We have some big projects coming up this summer, so I'll try to sneak a press into one of the those projects.

I'm done! Well, except for some wheels, a kick stand and any comments/advise that comes from you guys. I tried it last night and it worked great. Can't wait to really use it.
