Home made penetration oil?

May be a stupid thing to ask ... but I am a master at stupid. Is that you realize one end of the top link has left hand threads and the other has right hand...?? [ there, I got it out without choking too much ]

Light torch, heat, spray with WD40, heat, spray with WD40, repeat until free.

Is this a general question or do you have a problem fastener about which more information might find some solutions?

Today I was working on my truck and ran out of pb blaster

The other option that you might try would be to stand it up on end (so that the toplink end is above the threads), then warm up the threads there the rod enters the barrel with a propane or acetylene torch to where you can't comfortably touch them, then apply wax to the threads above the barrel so that it can wick down in.
That will often free up stuck bolts that won't come free any other way.

I had forgotten about that method.
I will try it.....in May.....if I can remember!

First I will need to clean out all the Kroil, or I will have a major fire.

Fire would be a good way to clean out the Kroil.

On the really tough ones, a heated mixture of oxygen and acetylene has always worked 100% to get it loose.

For rusted nuts I can get around, I tend to go for the high tech method of using a big hammer and an even bigger one. Biggest hammer underneath, and a good whack on the top, turn a third, whack, turn another third etc. If that doesn`t work, its a bigger hammer and a few chosen words that always seem to do the trick

Your right heat works good. The only problem is a gas tank that rusted out on top where I am working! But will try again today it really needs breakes before the snow comes

If all else fails, a grinder solves a lot of problems too!!!
