Homemade Grapple for B1700

I posted this link to more pictures in the 'Projects' forums...I have finally finished the project and have done some testing...This is going to be a huge labor saver for me...

What a nice job documenting your project with the photos. (They say photo is worth a thousand words)
However I didn't catch any documentation on the cylinder that you used and how close to the buckets cutting edge do the tines get. I am toying with the idea of making one for my next project.

I used the wooden mock-up and two pieces of PVC (one fits inside the other) to emulate a cylinder) and determined I needed an 8" stroke for the configuration I was setting up...I got the cylinder from Northern Tools for $99

The point of the grapple tines fit *just* inside the cutting edge...but there is really no need for it to close that far...I remove the grapple when I'm doing loader work..

If I fabricate one I would want it to handle boulders to place on walls, etc.. This would go on my Kubota L2550. My little Bolens works good with brush. I put on forks and use a strap to secure the brush. It works good without tearing up the terrain. It's two wheel drive with turf tires.
