That one is kind of a "dog" also... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To answer Larry's question about electrically operated hydraulic pumps, they are very good, but also very expensive. About $400 around here. They are used on 1 ton dump trucks and consist of the pump, motor, and reservoir. I don't know how much they can lift.... 6 ton is a lot of weight and usually trucks that lift bodies that large are all PTO driven pumps. When lifting a body with that amount of weight, you have to be very careful to be on level ground. I have seen many a truck go over on it side when the load wasn't balance. The same can happen with a dump trailer. My neighbor just destroyed the dump body on their 1 ton Chevy, when they tried to dump material out that wasn't properly loaded. It twisted up the body, sub frame, and truck frame. I believe that the truck is a constructive total loss. If you would like to pursue this further, I can research in some of my old specification books...
