Honda Harmony 2113 HDA problems...

Hi there...here I am again trying to get help for my dear husband who just cannot seem to figure out what is going on with his 1999 Honda Harmony lawn tractor. He seems to be able to cut half the lawn before it starts to die out. He can get it to start back up but it just keeps dying out. He checks for a spark by using a spare spark plug to ground and gets no spark. He can wait a minute or so and will try again then will see a spark. Engine will start and run for a minute then will die back out. He thinks it may be the ignition coil ? Is there a way to check for the coil?

Sounds like your husband is on the right track. Sometimes an ignition coil can develop an intermittent, thermally induced problem . . . heats up - fails, cools down - works again.

Get a tester like the link below (only easy to see in the shade or dim light), or one of the in-line testers.

I had the exact same issue with my Honda Harmony. Replaced the coil last year, and all has been good since..

Big thanks to both of you. I sure do hope this is the solution he is seeking. It all makes sense to me and I do trust my wonderful husband...lol.
