if ya wanna spend the money but the bands i get at autozone they ratchet theirself on so the wrench would be useless. and they sell for around 3.00 or under. i use them on my hpx .what kind do you dave to use with the wrench?? i never seen them i only used these that autozone sells.
The tool will work with the bands that come with the boots or NAPA bands.
It's a simple tool that allows you to get the correct tightness on the bands.
I once tried to pull the bands with a pair of vise grips and just couldn't get them right.
The tool allows you to pull the tension and then make the bend with it tight.
$13 bucks is cheap for a good tool.
I have never used the self racheting bands so I don't know if I would like them.
But the tool works on the band type that most CV's come with.
My little $13 dollar tool has paid for itself.
Kind of like the guy that told me I was crazy to buy the tool to load my tractor tires. He just went down and paid the tire store..........until He borrowed mine and saw how easy it was.........He bought his own after that........now another friend is using them!!
