Hood Latch Rattle LX and B2650/3350

My new LX3310 has the most annoying high pitch buzz/rattle from the hood latch at idle, i have tried for 3 days unsuccessfully to quiet it. I have pressed the mounting flange together a little to tighten it and take the slop out, I put a washer on the bar that attaches to the hood ornament that you turn to open, I tried turning the spring around, nothing works. I suspect it is the L-shaped rod going through the hood. It is so annoying that at this point I would rather cut that POS off with a saws-all and put a pink ratchet strap over the hood to hold it closed. Anyone have the issue? Fix? Thank you...

I was wondering where to get a pink ratchet strap? have you tried putting electrical tape on the L shaped POS? Just spit balling here....

Not sure I can get tape up there, I did put a zip tie around the arm in an effort to reduce any free play, no change. I
Have been trying without success to find a illustrated parts breakdown of the assembly.
