So here it is, my tractor is but a month old and already needs a new hood.

Not a factory defect but a user problem. We had a oak tree go down, a buddy of mine that needed the wood was cutting it up and he was using the tractor or move the wood.

For some unknown reason he raised the bucket all the way up and a piece fell off and put a huge dent and crease in the hood.

Can anyone let me know the availability of this part? Does it come complete, or do I have to buy the decals as well.

Thanks,
Rick

Well, I'd send the buddy to the nearest Mahindra dealer and find out. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Or take it to a body shop and get them to beat the dent out. Probably cheaper than a new hood.

I agree with Varmintmist, take it to a body shop and see what they can do. Dollars to doughnuts it's cheaper than a new hood.

ryoung99, I have run a bodyshop for 25 years, and have been a Mahindra dealer for 3 1/2 years, and have already repaired a few Mahindra panels, that have aquired tree damage. Let me know what model Mahindra you have and if you find a body shop to work on it I have some Dupont paint codes for the colors. Also Make sure you price the hood and decals from your dealer first, to make sure it is cheaper to have the hood repaired. Let me know if you need paint codes, and how you make out.

Given the labor rate charged at a body shop, be prepared to be shocked. Who knows after getting a price for a new hood and decals or the body shop estimate, that dent may not look as big as you think.
I guess you could always cover it up by installing a hood scoop and custom decals.

A trip to a Harbour Frieght store for a cheap body panel repair kit could make for a "fun" weekend project.

The big question I always ask before repairing these sort of things is: "Am I just going to dent it again?"

I am with you PBinWA, a couple body irons from HF, a small can of Bondo and some paint from glawall and a few fun hours and it should be good as new. On the other hand, why remove a good safety reminder, and a good conversation starter.

BTW, I've got a safety starter/conversation reminder on my daughter 6 month old Honda CRV. Of course I am not fixing it for a while just to be able to tell her to be more careful. : /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can you share those paint codes with all of us? Someone was just looking for that information for repairs on a 2810 and many of us build implements and would like to paint them to match.

Dupont paint numbers
00 series red -N9101 alternate CF01
10 series red -M9219 alternate CF01
10 series gray -C6051

These are all I have and I have used the 10 series gray on the 00 series, it blends out fine. The 00 series colors would match all the Indian made tractors. (00,05,C, 25, & 20 sereis) I hope these help.
