My particular backhoe is a 758C NH but I'm wondering if they all hook up similar. I am wondering if I need to install rear remotes for taking it off and putting it back on without a lot of trouble or danger. The way it was mounted by the dealer has me crawl under the front and disconnect the line going to the 3 point hitch and attach it to another line that is hooked to the hoe. I then have to hook another line from the hoe to a fitting on the back. Is this standard or should I have rear remotes for this function. I was told it was easy to disconnect and reconnect but when I tried to put it back on the hoses will not reach until it is already on and pinned. I had to jack and block the thing for a few hours trying to get it lined up with the frame and I didn't feel it was the safest operation. I tried parking it on blocks to get the hang of it yesterday with the same results, a few hours until it was back on. I have to be able to remove it to use other implements so I'm sure there is a better way. If the hoses reached I could articulate it with the controls. Any help appreciated. Paul

Same bh here, thankfully not the same dealer. I've got rear remotes and the dealer left me enough hose so I can hookup when 3' away. It's tricky enough getting the bh hooked up using the stabilizers and bucket, I can't imagine doing it with jacks. At the least, I'd get longer hoses.

Longer hoses in one form or another will fix your hook up problems.

Paul your backhoe is connected to the power beyond port not your rear remotes. One of the reasons that it is done this way is so that the 3 point will not work when the BH is attached as a safety measure. You should still have enough hydraulic hose that you can back the tractor pretty close to the BH and still connect the hydraulic lines. Once that is done you can then use the hydraulics to lift and maneuver the BH to mate it to the tractor. BTW: The dealer doesn't make the hydraulic lines for the BH, they are furnished by New Holland as a kit so I can't imagine them being to short for the application.
Your dealer should have given you better instruction as the first couple of times connecting and disconnecting the BH are going to be hard enough even with instructions. Don't worry it does get easier as you learn the ropes.

When I had my 758c installed this summer, I know the dealer made up the hydraulic hoses. The installer, while showing me how to hook it up mentioned how he made them a little longer to make my life easier. I don't know if the kit came with shorter hoses that he didn't use, but I doubt it. Also, when I hook up to my rear remotes, I have to flip a lever which puts power to them and disables the 3-point arms. Not trying to argue with you, Pineridge, I know you know your way around a tractor. It's just this crappy weather is giving me too much time on my hands and getting me depressed. Oh yeah, my tractors broke, too.
I think I may have the problem fixed. Thanks for all the advice here. I disassembled the cover off the BH and removed the hose that goes to the back connector. It was 6 feet long total from connector, under the bottom, then back up to the valve. I went to a local dealer and had him make up a 10 foot one. This gives me enough to coil the excess up next to the connector, and enough to reach the BH. (I didn't try it yet as it was raining and if it didn't work I couldn't bear another 5 hours of jacking and blocking that day) The return hose has a coiled loop back by the hoe that I'm hoping will also be long enough. Do many people run these off rear remotes or do they run the hose all the way to the front? Also does the power beyond mentioned run to the rear remotes? Thanks again for the help guys. I would have replied faster but the system would not let me post again in this thread. I don't know why but it let me today. (Another day and there would have been a repeat post referencing the original.) I will update how it turned out in case someone else has the same problem. Paul
