Bucket Hooks Hooks on FEL

I think they do have bolt on hooks, but not chain grab hooks. They do sell 'banjo' plates and a slotted escutcheon sort of thing too, but those are both weld on.

I think if someone would make bolt on grab hooks that there would be a good market for them amongst those of us who do not weld.

Sounds like a good side business:D What would you be willing to pay for them?

Same as the regular bolt on hooks, say $10-$15, maybe more with appropriate bolts and washers.

Any recommendations on hook placement with a lighter weight bucket? I have seen some mounted in the middle of the bucket and it appears not a great place because the bucket is bent there.

Hooks should ideally be placed inline with the bucket cylinders.

What is this fixation with hooks. Bolt on a piece of chain of your choice and hook to that or add a hook to the chain???:confused::confused:

Yes, chain will work.

If you want a bolt on hook, get a regular clevis hook and some angle. Drill two holes in one side of the angle to bolt to your bucket and one hole in the other side of the angle to attach a plain ole clevis chain hook.

Sometimes a picture helps. Instead of welding it to the bucket, drill two holes and bolt the angle to the bucket. Would be smart to also bolt a piece of flat stock to the underside.

I just put bolt on hooks on my bucket this afternoon - very similar to Damifino's installation. They are in line with the bucket cylinders (thanks kennyd). With a pair of "chain saddle grab links" (Google for image) it should be a very adaptable arrangement.

Thanks Baby Grand,:) that's provides a neat and clean solution to the gripper problem, plus it keeps other options open as well.
