Many years ago, I was in a terrific snow storm. We had a CB and heard about a small bridge at a certain mile marker that had an extreme problem with ice. We could only drive about 35 due to conditions, but had slowed to 15mph. My friend commented we got to be close to the bridge, and at the very point the van I was driving, simply floated side to side. I said we ain't close we are on it. I held the steering wheel straight and floated through it. There was NO control at all. I made no attempt to brake or anything, I knew doing so would make it worse. If we had not had the CB and been warned, we would have hit that at about 35mph, and I'm certain we would have wrecked.
I've driven many a mile over the years, but I have never encountered ice as slick as that was.
