Love it! There is an Amish owned shop in my area that has all kinds of Bridgport's and other machinery in the plant yet still uses Belgiums for several tasks like moving heavy objects.

We used to use Suffolk Punch horses on the farm in the UK well into the 50's and could have been early 60's, a big Melbourne brewery has recently stopped using Clydesdales for deliveries and use a mini semi trailer for narrow lanes.
Good story.

My Dad grew up on a farm, and they farmed with horses until the late 20's. He said my Grand Dad had a matched set of Clydesdale mules that were not only amazingly strong, but were beautiful to look at. Sometime during WWI, the Army appropriated these mules for the war effort. All was not lost, however; they wrote him a check for $800.00. Now it seems to me that was a lot of money in 1918.
