Thanks guys.. great advice. I'm really set on a tractor, so I'm disappointed I won't have a skidsteer that can actually get in the stalls to dig them out.. The former owner said he put in drainage under the stalls, but I have not seen any sign of that. But I hope so, because one side of the stalls backs up against a concrete retaining wall holding a lot of fill.. but I'll definately have to put in some kind of base..
That stallskin looks interesting.. have ta see if I can get a better look at it.. how thick is it? is it the same to pick off with a pitchfork as the stall mats? I guess they are heavier (in total) than the 4x6 rubber mat (sections), but gee, thats not such a big problem with a tractor... Our stalls are all odd sizes.. pretty much all the same depth, but all different sizes.. some are larger than 12', so those would take extra pieces. But I will also investigate the one piece stall mats. I like the equine matress system.. kind of expensive probably.. can't afford to get them for all our boarders, not this year. Maybe when our taxes get done next year. Who wants to go on vacation anyway.
We use the woody pet now.. so far so good; have not used it long enough to get an idea of the long term costs. We (she) cleans them every day.. I don't complain (much) about taking out the trash.
Thanks, Pete
