Hose length to front

I have remotes in the back and want to run hose to the front to use a grapple. Anybody know the length I would need and what else maybe? Thanks

Take a small garden hose and tie it up with cable tie (zip ties) from the rear remote, under the tractor to the loader then down the loader arms. Put a peice of tape where the QD's will end up on the loader. You may want to install QD's where the other ones are for the loader so if you remove the loader you don't have to remove the long hoses to the rear-just uncouple them like the other ones-If you want this, then apply tape there also.

After everything is routed and marked, remove the hose from the tractor, lay it out straight and measure where your tape marks are.

Consider spending a little more and get the front aux. hydr. kit from wr long. Do yourself a favor and go to wrlonginc.com or call Rick Wallace and get the info. It will be a pain to reach for the handle that controls the rear remote to open and close a grapple, when for just a couple hundred more the wrlong kit allows you to move the fel and open/close a grapple at the same time, via a rocker switch on the loader joystick. I debated doing the same thing that you plan to do to save money but couplers and hoses arent cheap either.

I just did this for my grapple. What I did was use a hose and run it under and away from any links, scrapes, bolts... you get the idea. Then measure it. I ended up with 14' 6". Then went and get 15' just 6" more.... Then when I was putting it on I found that it is a little bit hard to put on the place that I measure and ended up on different route that was easy for the hose. I used 1/2" hose. I actually ended 1' 6" longer on the place I want it to end :laughing:. But better long than short

You used 1/2" hose to feed the grapple?:shocked: Only 1/4" is needed, and it's a lot cheaper and easier to route.

Only to your wallet and real estate on the tractor!

One big advantage of the 1/4" is that it provides a little restriction to the flow slowing down the grapple cylinder-thus providing finer control of it.

But the money is spent, the work is done-now just enjoy it:thumbsup:

Thanks, Ken. I just pick up the bracket to install the quick disconnect on the loader arm and will think about the hose size and length this time... :ashamed:
Anyone wants a 15' long 1/2" diameter hose with quick connects on both ends?
