A friend of mine has a 170 NH skid steer that won't start when the engine is at operating temp. It will start every time cold but if it's been used they have to spray water on the engine to cool it down to around 95* before it will crank. The water has to be sprayed on top of the engine on both sides of the turbo, not on or around the temp sensor for this to work. The people at NH don't have a clue what's wrong or where to even start looking. Has anyone else ran into a problem like this? Thanks for any help.

My first question; Is there voltage to starter when hot? Is there is; can you turn motor over by hand ? Wondered if it is real tight when hot. Does schematic show a sensor that does not allow it to start if turbo is too hot? If it is too hot, make sure all vents open, radiator clean, fan in good shape.

It's something electrical. It won't even attemp to energize the starter, no click, no nothing. As soon as the engine cools down or run water on the engine to cool it everything works normal. As far as radiator, fan, ect. all is in perfect working order. Good idea about a turbo sensor, I'll have to check into that.
