I have been shopping for a while for a bx2230 with loader and 60 inch mmm or a b7510 or b7610 with loaders and mmm. Yesterday I heard the term "turf special" used at one dealer. I asked what that was and they could only tell me it is a b7510 hsd that come with turf tires in the crate. When I got home, I called Kubota in Ohio to find out more. It is a pkg that Kubota has put togater that comes with turf tires and a new larger 60 inch suspension deck mmm. The best part. List price for the Turf Special tractor with tires "B7510HSDTR" is $10,224. The list on the std B7510HSD is $10,524 plus the cost of the tires. The new deck RCK60B-75B lists for $2044.

I just got a quote from a local dealer, that I had to give the model numbers to, for The "turf special" B7510HSDTF with the new 60 in MMM and a LA302 for $13,500 plus tax. this puts it about $800 more that the best price I have found on the BX2230 MMM loader pkg of $12,700.

My only reservation is the suspension deck. Anyone have bad luck with the 54 inch suspension decks? RKC54-75B

Thanks

Jemma,

All BX MMMs are suspended. There has been debate in the past as to how they are superior to decks that run on the ground. When the smoke clears it is probably fair to say that either type does a good job. LOTS of people love the cut they get from the suspended decks on their BXs...

No sure if you are concerned about the difference between the BX and 7510, or the difference between the suspended and non suspended decks on the 7610. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif On rereading your post, I guess you have decided on the 7510. I would too if I were in your shoes.

The reason being that with 16 acres I would want a tractor with a larger, more standard size 3PH than the BX offers. The 7510 will also give more ground clearance and doesn't have as much "down under" to be damaged easily by a stick or rock. The BX is a great little tractor, but there are filters and a plastic cooling fan exposed on the bottom that are just asking to be damaged when the MMM is off.

I would not be afraid of the B7510HSDTR. Turf tires may not be the greatest in mud, but it sounds like you may get turfs on whatever tractory you buy anyway, so that is not the issue. The suspended deck should mow just fine, and perhaps better, otherwise there would be little reason for Kubota to be offering it specifically as a turf package.

Good luck in your decision and don't forget to keep us up dated! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Do you know if the new suspended deck compatable with the 7610? Personnally the lack of suspended deck was the main reason I haven't decided on a 7510/7610.

My brother-in-law just traded his BX2230 & 60"MMM for a 7510 'Turf Special' with 60"MMM and FEL. It ends up that if he would have added the FEL to his BX2230, that it was going to cost him $3000. For an additional $1500, he was able to upgrade to the new 7510 Turf Special.

I think he also did it to 'one-up' me. He bought his BX2230 after playing around on my BX22. Now I'm looking at upgrading just to keep up with him!! Problem is, I'm not sure if the backhoe for the 7510 is a lot more expensive. I love being able to dig out stumps, dig trenches for drainage tiles & bury cats 4' - 6' deep when the wife runs them over with her car!

So I found out more from my local dealer. According to him: fixed ROPS is standard and the only way you can order. You cannot order the mower deck independent of the 'turf special.' It is a limited production item. What they ordered at the show is all that are available.

He has yet to assemble his first one, so he couldn't answer all my questions. Does anyone know how you adjust the deck height? Can you pin up the deck and use a 3 pt implement? Does it interfere with adding a backhoe--either kubota or woods (other than needing to add a folding ROPS)? How do I convince my wife that now is the time to do this?

I took a look at my bro-in-law's 7510 Turf Special, and the deck adjustment is made on the rear of the tractor behind the seat. I'm not sure how it works, I just saw that it was different than my BX22 that adjusts on the floor in front of the seat.

No clue about if it would interfere with a backhoe....

Don't know much about that mower, but I just got a quote of 13k for a 7510 with turf tires and the LA302 loader.
