You need a radiator that is able to transfer heat from the liquid to air flowing through the fins. For this to work, you need clean fins (check with light behind) , flow of coolant, flow of air. Can you pull the radiator cap when running and see the liquid churning? If not, pump and thermostat is suspect. Have you checked that the fins are not plugged?
Yes Sir, I have checked both radiators...(one apparently for hyd?) All clean. I have not removed cap... I should do that cold and wait....until thermo opens, right? When it was overheating I knew better than to try to remove it🙈 Odd thing that reservoir tank was not hot though???

Go buy yourself one of those Bauer 20 volt shop blowers and blow the rad out. Good unit, lightweight and really blows.
I'll give it a blast from my compressor. Thanks 😊

Fans not running is NOT good. You might be encountering TWO issues here. Checking coolant circulation is, I'd think, priority one. Temperature sensor (usually a simple ohm check will confirm), fan relay...

What's your antifreeze mix at? Too much causes more strain on water pumps (which is why manufacturers pretty much tend to say max of 50/50).

Trapped air in the system can also cause problems like this.

I've got a Polaris Brutus (2013). Yanmar diesel. HST. Though I don't have hills to deal with I HAVE put on plenty of stress on this machine and it's never even hinted at getting warm: fan runs as needed w/o issue. My Kubota B7800, for the first time ever, boiled over on my about a couple of weeks ago; it was really warm and I was working it hard- no breeze; immediately resorted to blowing the radiator fins clean (hadn't been that bad); still continued to run a bit warmer than I'd recalled, but it was a pretty hot day. Interestingly, my Kioti's temps never go above 1/2, no matter how hard I work it, in hot weather and with AC running!

I have been having the same problem with my RTV 1140 as the other posters on here--intermittent overheating. Last time it happened (temp gauge pegged to right, coolant boiling out), I noticed that the fan was NOT running. So I did what buckkoo did in his post-wired the pos fan lead to the pos pole of the battery, and grounded the negative lead to the frame. Only thing I did different was I put a toggle switch in the wire between the pos fan lead and the battery. So what I do now is leave the toggle off (so fan is off) till the Kubota gets up to operating temp (temp gauge in center), then I switch on the toggle which turns the fan on. I leave it in this position until I shut the machine down. So far, so good--no overheating. But I've only put a few miles on it since I've done this, so time will tell. It's somewhat of a PITA to have to toggle the fan on and off, but if it prevents the overheating, I can live with it. I post again after I have a few more hours on the machine and give some follow up.
