About 2.5 amps or 30 watts at a nominal 12 volts... See the spec sheets on the baily valves.. others similar. I assume you are using a DO3 type valve, there would not be a need for anything bigger..

Okay, 2.4 amps is probably not a problem with the ignition switch. I still don't like that approach, but it's probably okay. Some of my colleagues used to use that approach for installing cell phones back when they were installed in cars. Their draw was in that neighborhood.
