Hours to make it used?

Just wondering how many hours it takes on a new tractor on the dealers lot to make it used? Demo? How many is the most you would consider it new? 25 hours? 50?

I think the finance companies will consider them new with up to 15 hours. I'd ask for a little discount if over 8 hours, and if it has over 15, you want a bigger discount. As a practical matter, if it has never been retailed, it is new as far as warranty registration and all.

For me, there are too many variables in buying a new but used tractor along with a car or truck. 25 - 50 hours on a car would possibly equate to 3,000 miles. Some dealers put the bigger tractors on a dyno to break them in. I'll accept that. Was the tractor a demo? Was it a rental? Did someone buy it and bring it back? Usually on the demo's - it is a normal thing for a perspective customer to put the tractor thru it's paces and that can sometimes lead to abusing it too. That applies to rentals too. I want to know that what I was getting was new. 500 hours down the road and the clutch goes out - what's going to be going thru your mind then? Was it me or the guy who put on the 25 hours. I know I'm treading on soft ground with my opinions but that is my opinion. Clyde

Reason I was asking is the 7010 I have been looking at has the floor full of clay mud tracks and when talking to the wife about if we should trade or not she said you know it had 29 hours on it don't you? I did not and that kind of makes it a different ballgame. It just opens up a whole bunch of questions!
