She has a few step stools, but I'm not sure what she is going to use in the pantry. She is using those kinds in her closet, and my dad's closet, so she might just get another for there.

The granite turned out really nice. They are excited by how beautiful it is and love how much space they have.

I finished off the guest bedroom closets today and got some mowing in, then went hunting with Karen and shot a couple of small hogs!!!

We call that size hog a "barbie", cause it's just the right size for the barbie!

Eddie, morning..... If they weren't such a pest, I'd like to step out the back porch and shoot a pig for dinner..... Good lookin' pigs....

Been working on shelves for all the closets and some other projects that came up that needed doing. The rock arrived last week and the concrete was poured for the porches and walkways yesterday.

One of those things that we didn't think about before was to have a place to store firewood. That evolved into a storage shed with a walkway to get there, and wiring for a switch on the deck to turn on a light over the firewood. We also added water to one of the posts to fill a hot tub, and then ran that line to the shed and out to the back of the yard for a future water feature, along with power.

The rock is from Boulder Creek Stone. It's slow going, but we're very pleased with the results. I do a little in the evenings, and if it's not raining, I hope to get quite a bit done this weekend.

The biggest delay in pouring the concrete has been finding somebody to do it. The guy who did the foundation was great, but his workers all went back to Mexico. Crazy thing, they where not deported, they just thought things where better there then here!!! So I've been looking, asking around and talking to other contractors. The guys that are good and busy are very expensive. The guys looking for work are scary and can't come up with any references. After more then a month of looking, we found some guys through a friend who recommended them. They set the forms and tied the rebar in two days. The pour was supposed to be on Saturday, but because of rain in the forecast, they moved it up to yesterday. We are very pleased with the results.

Looks great Eddy. What type of membrane are you using behind the rock for waterproofing? Looks like some type of dura-rock? We have a lot of stone going up in the future. While I will probably contract this out, stone veneer is new to me and I'm really not sure what to be looking for to make sure it's done correctly.

There is two layers of house wrap over the OSB siding, then half inch thick Hardie Backer Board that is screwed on using Hardie Screws. Instead of using mortar to attach the stone, I'm using grey thinset. It's usually used for tile. It's a lot stronger then mortar and easy to work with, but twice the money.
