Looks likes you are progressing nicely with the Aussie Chapter TBN party boat! Don't forget to
put the yellow diamond with the tractor logo on the side. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Wow!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifWhat a nice houseboat. Must be some sizeable water your launching that on. When is the launch date and have you picked out a good year for the bubbley? Although I think the bubbley would be better enjoyed down the throat then on the hull. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifEnjoy and have a great day!

Very impressive build. I cant see all the details but it sure seems very well built with a lot of attention paid to the design. I sure like the back where you have easy access to water level.

Are you going to have an onboard power supply? Generator? Solar?

It's nice to see something so well designed.

That is exactly the way I would paint it!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your trailer looks a tad small. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Mark,

Thank you for your kind comments. It will have two power systems 12volt (battery solar)and 240volt. First fix electrical and 1st fix plumbing are next step. I am not much of an electrician though and am not sure whether to tackle that myself, There is insurance issues i must consider with electrical. , One other thing i won't do is gas plumbing, there is very strict laws here in regard to gas appliances. Everything else i have done myself though.

Don,

The trailer might be small but it Aussie tough, It would easy carry 13 ton of houseboat and the kia would pull it idling.

Don,
How did you determine the size you wanted to build? It's one of those things that 10 feet longer costs 5% more.. You keep wondering where to stop.

I'm a boater on the Atlantic Ocean.. I have a 36ft sailboat. I spoke to a guy from the southeren USA that had a houseboat that was 112 feet long.... and he said people in his area had bigger ones... his had two Chevrolet V8s powering it...

My guess is your not looking for this to plane so your more of a displacement hull... somewhere under 10 knots.

Take a look at the way they do the power in large yachts... all 48 volt. they use step down transformers to power 12volt electronics.

I have 12 volt batteries. They are big group 4D batts. They are 220 amphours each. I have two in parallel for 440 amphours. if you looking for a genset look at yacht gensets as they are water cooled and very very quiet. Fisher Panda is a good brand.

Looks great enjoy the water.... Your just coming into spring down there aren't you... Were heading into fall now....

watch out for those anti-clockwise flushing toilets down there mate...

Regards,
Chris

Cmhyland, I can see how you thought Daedong was Don (below message to Mark) but Daedong is actually Vin. So Vin I will let you respond.

Vin I have been looking for a trailer that size to put behind my golf cart in the hills of Texas. The boat does fit! Here in Texas everything is bigger.... except the things from down under. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is turning out to be one beautiful boat, Vin. You must get a LOT of satisfaction for a project like that.

Big? Yes. But last week, when we went on a short trip up to Broken Bow Lake in SE Oklahoma, I saw what has to be the grandaddy of private houseboats. Three levels (two enclosed with a third level sundeck). I'm not sure, but it appeared to be around 100-120' in length. Reportedly owned by a local Coca-cola bottler.
