Thanks for the pics and updates Eddie .....and to the other TBN members. Friday I am scheduled for the Covid shot and have had similar reservations about its efficacy and side effects..............but.........guess I'll go thru with it.....at 88+ years old and in good health that I don't want to get screwed up. Will let y'all know.

I am 80!
Had my first (Moderna) Covid shot Feb. 1st, absolutely no side effects!
Will get my 2nd shot on Monday Mar. 1st.
Many 80+ friends have had 1st shots, all with absolutely zero side effects!
It is simply common sense to get the shot at our ages!

Tough call... every Doc at the hospital has both Pfizer doses with second completed 6 weeks ago.

96% of staff has both Moderna... a few RN's opted out for now.

If there are acute bad effects it could devastate healthcare worldwide...

California Sutter Health cancelled 40,000 second dose vaccine and no first dose for two weeks due to vaccine not available. Another 50,000 cancellation possible...

Other providers in similar situation as program administration changes...

I had my first dose of the Moderna Vaccine last week, with volunteer Baylor nursing students giving 1500 vaccines over a 3 day period. Only side effect was slight sore arm and leg muscles for about 24 hours. I believe the Moderna Vaccine is a "activated live mRNA" vaccine, meaning any Covid testing done within 3 days of recieving the vaccine, should show a positive on Covid testing for upto two weeks after your 2nd dose is completed. If you already had Covid, it's still highly recommended to recieve a vaccine, as Moderna has proved effective against the UK, South African, Brazil and California variants.

I had first Pfizer 10 days ago. Felt nothing that day. Next morning woke up feeling like flu so I took two Motrin and went back to bed. Next day and subsequent, I've felt fine.

I've read that this next day reaction can occur if you had Coronavirus before. I may have, in February 2020 I had all the characteristics of a light case - unable to breathe deeply, lost taste, and then after a week, lesser weird symptoms for a year since - white spots on back of hands, rash on inner side of elbows for example. I think this vaccination cleaned up those lingering effects and I feel fine.

I've read of the vaccine shortage in the region (NorCal) but Kaiser is maintaining their scheduled appointments.

I went in and got my 2nd Moderna shot yesterday. First shot was slight prick and then no other symptoms. Second shot was same nurse, shot in same place but it seemed like the shot took about 5 seconds longer. My arm is slightly sore right where I got the shot today but nothing to complain about.

The shot was given in a major hospital and the room where I got the shot had 6 desks ready to give the shots but I was the only one in there at that time and another person came in as I left. They said they were able to give 360 shots per hour but only about 90 people an hour were showing up. There are plenty of shots available and if we could only get more people interested in getting them, we could end this pandemic in no time.

My wife got her second Moderna last Thursday and was knocked out pretty good on Friday, but back to normal by mid-day Saturday. Basically fatigue, headache, aches, and fever for about 24 hours.
