When I was a wee lad in the late fifties I remember thrashing oats time all the neighbors going to each farm helping out and haying time before anyone had balers it was all loose hay loaded by hand on hay wagons with tall sides and put in the barn with a big hay fork that was pulled by a horse. Then in the sixties picking corn, baling hay, shelling corn that we sealed for six months and some times when plowing and other field work neighbors would just show up with the whole family to help and every one would have a wonderful time and the women would cook big meals and were they O-So-good. Those were some wonderful days speaking to some one face to face. No texting, Facebook, or any electronic gagets. Unbelievable a person could live like that and really care about your neighbors.
