How are the Fall colors where you live??

Here in eastern PA virtually no color. Most leaves are going from green to brown and dropping. Also noted that we have never seen as many walnuts as we have this year. Trees are loaded with them.

I've always wondered just what are the factors in determining the brightness or dullness of Fall colors. Some say dry weather is an indicator that colors will be dull, but some of the most spectacular colors around here followed a dry summer. Wet = dull colors? Same thing-- some wet summers are followed by great colors. Temperature? Early/late frost? Doesn't seem to be any definitive pattern.
