This truck is in great shape apart from the crack in the fender. It drives and runs great. I bought it for $1200.
How are the older Ford med-duty diesels?

I bought a brand new heavy duty 3/4 Ton 4 WD Ford Pickup in 1985 with a cornbinder (International Harvestor built)Diesel. I thought it was 6.2 litre but could have been 6.6 L engine. I drove it for 11 years and it performed flawlessly until the fuel pump quit right in front of the Ford Garage where I bought it. Instead of paying them $1000 to fix it I bought a new truck an F 150 with a 302 gas V8. I was tired of hearing and smelling a diesel but that truck didn't owe me a penny. For what it's worth I drove that f150 4X4 truck for 11 years also.

If it was an F250 you had a 6.9liter IDI V-8. I have had two 6.9's, one 7.3 IDI and two 7.3 Powerstrokes. They are good engines.

It worked well for me but as I recall you could only get one with a heavy duty 3/4 ton truck. I think the 85 HD 3/4 4WD package had a heavier axle. I got mine nearly the same time as another guy bought the same thing only he had an automatic trans. Those cornbinders (6.9) were so heavy he kept having brake and axle troubles while I never did. The difference had to be that he had a plow frame and heavy plow on the front of that 3/4 ton. Take that heavy engine and add a front plow and frame and it might have been just too much for that truck.

Now is the time to buy. I have seen a ton of good deals on dump trucks and flat beds as well as skidsteers and stuff. I just don't need any more equipment!
