What specific metric(s) do you use to determine if volume is too low? How do you know when xx volume is enough for a given stock?

"Short Interest %" or "Days-to-cover" perhaps? What's the best indicator to ensure a successful exit?

I just looked through stocks I have in our SMA account and spotted "GE VERNOVA INC COM"
which is up 1,511.75% since purchased a few years ago. A division of General Electric doing alternative energy research. Anything like that and Ai I'm thinking would be a good choice.

Not sure where you got 1,500%+ or that you bought it a few years ago. GEV is the old GE Renewable Energy company, I retired from the Renewables business 9 years ago. I too have GEV stock and it's only been around since April 2, 2024, when they spun off from GE.

Do you see the scale on the left hand side, showing a millions scale? That is volume.

I like to see a stock with at least a million shares exchanged per day. You have to be able to sell when you want to.

You are right in principal and I understand that, but it’s more time consuming to skim 10 stocks, than ride one like Apple or Tesla.
I can’t be on my phone all day during the week buying/selling. I don’t work in front of a computer terminal during the week.

I am just asking people their opinions of would could be the “next” one, realizing it’s totally speculative

It's too bad you're not closer, I would make you a millionaire. I've taught 5 so far.

They say the first million is the hardest to make, and they are right. After that it gets a whole lot easier as you can buy more shares at once. The number of shares is your multiplier and what makes a play so lucrative.

I have a open bid today at $15. All the conditions are right. The volume is a little light, but I'm ok with it. There is over 535K moving on the daily.

If it fills, I would put my first sell stop around 12.50

Did you select this stock because of the RSI trend above 30? Any concern with the Chinese stocks in general?

Yes, the RSI went oversold and the MACD is starting to show more inflows than outflows. It's ready to pop. I have a buy order in at 15 because you want that upward momentum before buying. If it fills at 15, chances are it will go even higher.

Anything that is tied into the NASDAQ is good.
