How big is big enough?

I just wondered why the Mahindra dealer would recommend such a larger tractor than the Kubota dealer. It got me thinking that maybe the Kubota was to small.

Had you gone to the Mahindra dealer first would you now be wondering if perhaps it was to big.
Why dose it automatically follow that the second dealer you visit is correct and the first one is wrong?

Not sure if your BX23 question was really answered yet. The only thing that may need to be done to modify the BX to use most if not all Cat 1 implements is to drill 2 1/2" holes in the lower 3PH arms and possibly 2 more in the lift arm struts depending on how tall the implement is. Very simple modification. But you may not be interested in doing that.
I have NO Kubota attachments but several of various brands and all work great with the simple modification: 4' BB, 5' RB, 5' RFM, 4' Bushhog, 4' (gray) tiller, 6' (ancient) springtooth, 2 old toolbars, and use neighbors PHD.
Cheers!

I had It narrowed down to the Kubota B2410 and The BX23.
The BX23 won me over in the end.
Like the easier less bulky machine to handle and maneuver.
Either one of them probably would have worked out fine for me, however.
One thing I could not quite justify was the 6000 dollar price difference between the B2410 and the BX23.
You cannot buy a new tractor loader and back hoe for less than the cost of the BX23 or the Massey Ferguson GC2310.
I would still take a B2410 also.

I drive Compact pick ups because I don't like man handling and lugging around big bulky full sized pickups.

If you are looking for something bigger and meaner than the BX23 but not too big then in addition to the tractors already mentioned I would suggest looking into the Kioti CK20. It's an awesome machine and is small enough in size to be a good grass cutter on a small yard (check out Kioti Johns pictures of the work he has done).

Kioti John's work pictures

My only concern with the B7510 is that it is a very narrow tractor. You mentioned that your property is very steep. I have lots and lots of hills here and my wider wheel base makes me very stable on some pretty ugly inclines. Every time I get on it I am going up, down, sideways...a narrow tractor would not be stable enough for me.

So many tractors...so many choices...not enough money to buy them all!

LBrown,

My logic behind it is this. I really don't know to much about the subcompact tractors and the amount of work they can do. Heck for that matter, I really don't know much about any tractors period. So when I talked to a few people I knew and their lawn tractors are around the same HP rating, it got me wondering. Also to expand the statement that I thought the Kubota may be to small, I also thought that the Mahindra may be to big. That's why I came on here to ask a few questions to find out which one was correct.

Homebrew,
Thank you for clearing up the 3ph issue. I didn't realize that this could be done. Now I will have to do a bit more comparing. Again thanks to all. You have been very helpfull.

I own a B-7500 the older model of the Kubota you are looking at, and I live in the northern part of VA. I use my tractor almost exclusively for what you describe you will be using yours for. The mowing will be best with the Kubota because of its light weight, I have moved a ton of snow with mine we have had 5 two and half foot plus storms since I have owned mine and although I do have to keep up with the snow fall every 12 to 24 inches at a crack it has never let me down.

Bottom line every manufacture will have a tractor that will do the tasks you want to do, I would lean towards the one that has the dealer you feel most comfortable with regardless of color of tractor.

Have fun shopping and welcome to TBN!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Crown,

I'm just up the interstate from you. I live in Hedgesville WV. The Kubota dealer I went to is in Winchester. Thank you for the information on how your Kubota performs. I am anxious to get a tractor which ever one I pick, so I can start playing.

Just for comparison purposes, here is a picture of my LegacyXL with 60" MMM, FEL and wt box attached. This is the 27HP Daihatsu diesel.
