TC33D / 7308 ldr 60" HD bucket
I was running some numbers and I might be able to do a TC33D with SS, but was wondering if it would handle my 72" First Choice BB3072 Box Blade?

TC33D owners now is the time to speak up!

Thanks,

I don't have a TC33, but I'll chime in. You should have no problems with a 6' box scraper. My little 37hp Kubota pulls a 6 footer with ease, I'm sure I could have gotten away with a 7 footer, but the price was right for the 6. Mines a Bush Hog, weighs ~500#'s and holds ~17 cubic feet of material. So even if it's full of sand, it's less than half the weight of my tractor. You'll need 4WD to pull a fully loaded 6' box, but you'll be much happier covering your tracks.

JJT,

Thanks for the input! I wasn't worried so much about it having the power as much as traction. The TC33D with Super Steer weighs in at 2588lbs without loaded tires.

thanks again,

Hi Brandon:

My TC29 has no problems pulling a 6' Woods box blade. I did drop @ 7lbs in each rear tire for better traction. This combonation works very well.

My dealer pulled a real sneaky to get me to buy this BB. While I was waiting for my TC29 to be delivered, he brought out a loaner TC29D to use. Well on the back there was a shiny new 72" Woods box blade. It had about 15 minutes on it from my salesman cleaning up his personal driveway. He said he didn't have any objection to me using it. So in the week that I had the loaner tractor I put about 8 hrs on this BB. When he brought out my TC29, He told me he would knock $60 off, since it was now a demostrator. So then and there I wrote him a check for the BB that I hadn't intended on buying. Pretty swift operator, that salesman isn't he.

I have a TC33D with R4 Tires. Tires are filled with CaCl. I pull a Woods GB72 box blade (72", 572 lbs) with good results. It would not work quite as well without the filled tires (or perhaps wheel weights)... remember, when you are actually using the box blade, it ceases to be rear ballast since the ground is supporting its weight.

I've used it to maintain 1300 ft of gravel driveway/road, leveled ruts in some old abandoned logging roads, and done some work to regrade around a new house we're having built. The gravel driveway doesn't even put a strain on it power- or traction-wise. In other situations, I have slipped the wheels on occasion, but it usually turned out to be a HUGE stone or large root I was hung up on. In wetter or muddy areas I sometimes lose traction, but I generally just don't take quite as deep a bite in those conditions and get through OK.
