Mowing How big of a disk mower?

A 45 hp tractor can turn a 9 ft, however, the Mfgr. specs are looking more at the weight and "Stance" of the tractor for safety's sake. We have in stock the new Enorossi 7 ft double action sickle mowers with hydraulic lift kit for $3695. My Shop Foreman has a disc mower and one of these double action mowers and the double action will make a round every time the disc mower does. Damp hay don't matter. Ken Sweet

Also when I used the sickle mowers years ago I encountered plugging in gopher mounds, problems cutting thick downed Bermuda, and sickle repair ... the old boys that used to sharpen and repair just are not out there anymore. AND if you started to early in the mornimg that heavy due about shook me to death.

The double action setup is where the guard bar and the section bar both move. The tolerances are close enough (15 thousandth) that you can't clog them. Ken Sweet

Thats CCM they advertise on here as well ... I spoke with them the other day .. the model 240 7'10" cut $5595 plus shipping $385 ... they have sold alot of these and he told me I would be very pleased. Also was very knowledgeable about the product and very much on top of hay production.

I have known Mark for probably 20 years. He is very knowledgable. However, his shipping is way too high. I can ship for 1/2 that and if you pay by check, I can give you a 3 % discount off the machine and the freight. Our Fort disc mowers are backed up with approx 75K in new and good used parts inventory here at my location. All used parts at 1/2 price of new. Ken Sweet

I would go with the double action sickle mower or the drum mower. I have ran an 8 ft disc mower with that size tractor and it is hard on the tractor.

Drum mowers are heaviest and sickles are lightest. Drum mowers also are the cheapest, less moving parts.

My 3011 weighs 4000 pounds and has more than enough power to run the 2 meter Krone disk mower (no conditioner) but in damp grass, there isnt enough weight on the front wheels to make it track straight, i have to countersteer untill the wheels find grip, when i correct that, it takes a bit before the wheels find grip so i'm continuously correcting it.
On hills it would be a whole different story, then it wont be just an issue, but a pain in the ***. the 5245 weighs 8000 pounds and you dont notice its there.
