can I use with my 45D. I was thinking no more than a 3 bottom. Or is that still too big?

I'm just wanting one to turn over our garden and get some vegetation turned under. It packs so hard it's like iron.

I use a 2-bottom on mine and pulls fine - unless I hit a stump or big tree root. Then it stops and spins (not surprisingly). I would think a 3-bottom would be fine on a TC45. I have my tires filled, 400lbs of wheel weights, and my loader frame for extra weight plus use 4WD.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Now if I can just find a decent priced plow, I'll be good to go.

If you have heavy soil go with a 2 bottom plow. I get by with a middlebuster behind my L3710, (the price was right and I only turn the soil every other year). I then till 2 - 3 times before planting.

You know, I was just thinking....

It was the plow that helped remind me about the post concerning soft/weak 3ph lift arms on class III Boomers. If your lift arms are grey, they MAY be weak and bend under heavy use. If they are black don't worry about it. I had mine replace under warranty with the newer ones. Check out this thread for more information.

I cant say that I have heavy soil, it actually works up very easy, almost too easy. I can turn it to a talc like power if I work it too many times, thus my problem with it packing down in to a rock later on.
I love to run the disc through the garden for no other reason than to get the smell of the earth wafting thru the air /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

So if I get the plow, maybe it will give me another reason to stir up the soil.

I'll be watching the local auctions for plows during the winter, maybe I can run across a good 2 or 3 bottom plow that way.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Luckily I have the dark 3pt arms, so no worries here.
