One of a couple sentimental favorites.

Long story short, gun was left to me by my uncle (who since died some time ago), who used to take me out shooting growing up as a child when my father was away overseas.

Gun is older than myself, and honestly, have never found another firearm that could shoot better at 50yards.

Nothing but fun shooting it, and it always reminds me of a time growing up with my uncle that puts a smile on my face. That is what I forgot some time ago what shooting with family is all about.

That's a beautiful old rifle.

I'm always cruising the pawn shops, yard sales and trade lots in search of the old .22s.

KevinG,
I also feel the same way about the CCW's. Once the lib's gain FULL control of the Whitehouse, it's just a matter of time before they say no more new CCW's issued...so I keep current so I'm "IN BEFORE THE LOCKDOWN".
Podunk.

The second amendment was put there for just this scenario.
At the rate the dems are screwing up, I wouldn't be too sure they'll
take the Whitehouse next time around.

That's how my Dad found the 513 he gave me. He also gave me a Browning T bolt, which was a very cool gun.

Get this, my Dad was an ATF agent (retired now). But before you guys kick me off the site, all ATF agents are not the same. Dad was an avid gun collector and lifetime NRA member. He was a by the book type of agent, but he's also a good guy and he was fortunate enough to be assigned to the area where he lived and grew up. Because of that, he treated the pawn shop owners and gun dealers with respect and they liked him. He did not cut anyone any slack or turn he back on any wrong doing, but he also wasn't an arrogant jerk. To this day, his best friends are gun shop and pawn shop owners. Because of this he always had a line on great finds in the pawn shops, etc. These guys still call him for first dibs on anything cool that comes in and he's been retired for 20 years. He's gotten some of the best deals on guns.

Nowadays, he doesn't go for anything fancy. He loves picking up junkers of all sorts that he gets for $25-$50 and fixes them in his little shop and sells them or gives them away.

Now I know why I can't find any old shooters anymore.

Your Dad is beating me to them.

I used to have some pawn shop buddies that would call me occasionally when they got a nice old .22 rifle for sale. But a lot of the pawn shops and places that had FFLs to sell guns are closing up - or at least they quit selling guns. They say there's too much paperwork and it's too easy to get into trouble even if you're doing your best not to. On top that it's like anywhere else, they can't beat the prices at Wal-Mart.
