hemlock goes silver gray with time.

pine goes brown and then in twenty years, It's closing on black. Well, really dark brown

It's like the difference between eastern and western cedar shingles.

Once you put on stain, your stuck. The wood will still want to do what it wants to do, and you will want it the way it was when you started. Loosing battle! Let it be.

Just don't mix species on any one wall!

I have heard that pine goes brown and Hemlock goes Silver Gray, My Coop has Hemlock Boards and Pine Battens, My Shop is all Hemlock I think.

I have thought about the Oil/Diesel and atf route, How long does it last? Do you guy's have Pic's of the wood you guys have either stained, left natual or used the oil/homemade stains on?

I am not sure the Sq Ft but it is two story 28x28 Building. I have another thread here somewhere is my build progress.
