Thanks for the link. How easy/difficult is it to wire to the tractor?

It took me ~30 minutes to wire a 4 pin flat connector onto the BX2660 taking my time using solder and shrinkwrap. It took longer on the L3830, but I was doing other stuff as well.

You're welcome. Follow the directions on the page I linked to.

If your tractor doesn't have brake lights just add a brake switch in line, or buy a motorcycle handlebar control brake switch and mount it under your brake pedal so it'll activate. Doesn't take alot of force to activate the switch so you could even mount it on a hinge behind the pedal so it won't impede your safe and proper operation.

Do yourself a favor. Avoid more lights.

I don't see nothing wrong with you adding brake lights, if you want to do it, pick you up a pair of Peterson or the like trailer stop, turn, running lights, go to NAPA and get a brake light switch like someone mentioned above, wire your hazards and running lights to the exsisting circut, run a new wire for your brakes off your switch that you put under your pedal. It's not hard, there will be a few brake switches to choose from, tell them whAt your wanting to do at NAPA and they should be able to help, of possible get a sealed switch to prevent dirt and moisture from knocking it out, it is on a tractor! I am in the process of adding a 7-pin trailer connector to the rear. This will allow me to add a brake controller (I do pull a loaded dump trailer with the tractor) in the future, but the main reason is the 7-pin connectors have two auxiliary power pins (one is 12v+ supply and another is considered auxillary/backup lights) which I can use to power things from the tractor. I'll add two switches for those.

It'd be trivial to bring the existing light circuits over this connector too just as if it were on a vehicle.

You could do this, throw a 7-pin plug on the carry all, and have lights and even an auxiliary power port.

I hope you start a thread on this. I'd like brakes on my dump trailer when it's pulled by the tractor, for going down steep hills.

My LS xr4046hc has brake lights and a 7 pin plug, I set mine up on my carry-all and the tail lights and turn signals work but not the brake lights. I haven't figured it out yet but I think it is the right thing to do. I live on a gravel road and go from one gate to another on the road and would rather be well seen. 20140113_164125.jpg
