How cold do you keep it?

A key..hhmmm. Now theres a good idea. I do have the hunter fans through out the house except the bedroom. I put a Casablanca in their simply due to the style for the room. I put in one of those remote controll switches that I can take off the wall. That way once the boss goes to sleep I can turn the fan down with the remote. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Dave

yeah casa makes a good fan, they are owned by hunter. i have three remotes in my bedroom, one by the door, one on my side of the bed ( that is universal runs everything), and one on my girlfriends side of the bed. hell i have multiple remote all over the house....never more then arms reach from me!

Check the coil and make sure it's clean, just like your tractor the filter infront of you coil need to be keep clean. Folks like yourself that keep there dwelling cool run the A/C's far more and you would be surprised at how fast a coil can become clogged (dirty filters = blocked coil = drop in air flow = freezing coil) this of course is not the only reasion for coils that look like a block of ice but it's very common in folks who keep there homes cold.

I know what you mean -- I grew up in the Chicago area, and we had a summer home in Fremont, WI (White Bass Capital of the World). Fremont is a very small town, but it is about 20 miles west of Appleton and 30 miles northwest of Oshkosh. It seems like there was only 8 weeks of summer up there. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

But what a fun summer it was each year! I sure miss those times. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Years ago, I shared an appartment with another guy while in college. Our rent included free heat. He liked it hot in the winter (80), I liked it cool (65). Solution; I left my bedroom window open all winter (Michigan). He used to complain about the icey draft that come up from the bottom of the door. Maybe I should have called it The Fridge.

No A/C in our house. When it gets too hot we sleep on the ground floor. When it gets miserably hot we sleep in the basement. When it gets cold we add a blanket to the bed. When it gets colder we invite the dogs to bed. When it gets bitterly cold we fire up the woodstove.

I find cold easier to take than heat. I would like to move north. My wife finds heat easier to take than cold. She wants to move south. So we cancel each other out and stay where we are.
