Glad to see I'm not the only one brazing welds to get them pressure tight.
Brazing is a good approach. It is strong enough for hi-pressure hydraulics,
and the process burns out the oil contamination (if any). The surface
tension of the molten brass keeps bubbles from forming. Of course, once
you braze a particular connection, there is no going back to welding it.
