International 1066 Full sized JCB Loader/Backhoe and a John Deere 430 to mow with
Just bought an International 1066 open station (geared).

Needed to move it as it was blocking a trailer.... so for the short jaunt, I did not put my hearing protection on that I would normally have.

Since it was only moving about 15', I left it at just above idle and scooted it. Since it was relatively quiet, I heard a sound that without knowing by verification, I "know" is a rear wheel bearing.

I have a service manual & looked at it.

Looks like wheel comes off, axle comes out but, prior to pulling axle out you have to remove seat and go into transmission area to detach it somehow?

(I'll admit I didn't focus on exact steps yet, just gave a quick glance and that's my take-away)

Anyone do one of these and if so, how difficult is it to do in the driveway with hand and pneumatic tools? (I also have the backhoe to use as a hoist if need be.... I'll use it to lift back end onto support, then use it to hoist tire out of way and then have at it)

On the pictures, it looks "easy peasy" (hahahahahaha) Whenever something looks easy-peasy, that usually means (for me anyway) there's a little gremlin in the grass just waiting to bite my ankle.

Anything to watchout for? While transmission case is open (I presume), anything in there to double check/replace while open?

Should I just shut up and take it to shop?
