Not any more. They stopped making "farm calls" around where I am because of insurance problems. If they still do it where you are ... PAY THEM, it's money well spent. That's how I messed up my back, fighting a rear ag tire off a 75 hp Massey that was filled with CaCl2 and trying to get it on to a pick up. Even drained they are a booger to handle without equipment. The repair itself sounds simple enough, boot and tube, but let a pro do it. It's a lot easier and safer that way.

These guys had two large pry bars and they worked as a team. Their rig had a boom arm that lifted my tractor like a toy. They do ONE thing only: fix large tires on large equipment and sell them. They are the only that I know of. Two youngs guys, not more than 30 years old, and they have a niche. I'll patronize them as long as they're around and good.

At the JD store it can be quite a sight to see duals being put on a new combine. The rims are huge and so heavy it takes a couple of us to wiggle it side to side to get it in position to mount on the machine. If it were to fall on you it could kill you!

For the life of me I can't figure out what the $1,000 was for... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif That would be an expensive 50 hour service, so I doubt it was for that, and you listed the tire repair cost next...and the T&T previous...

Got first flat on my TC40D at 65 hours. Ran over the blade portion of an old rusted T-post when brush hogging. Called the local tire guy and he came out (next day) and fixed it. $95.00 for everything. Well worth the cost, IMO.

At the same time I got the flat, I also broke the grade 8 shear pin on the brush hog (has slip clutch). Must have hit the T-post with the mower as well. Ruined a whole day of good tractor time. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The bright side - I now see the real need for TWO tractors! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Last month a friend of mine called me and said that it was time for him to change the real rubber on the back of his old Massey. I used the FEL on my TC-40D and a stout chain to load them on his trailer. He had the rubber changed and the calcium put back in the new rear tires.

I then went back and with the same chain got them as close to the hubs as I could with the FEL. Three of us had to then man handle them to get the lug-nuts aligned and the tractor in working order once again.

It has now been weeks and my lower back still has not forgiven me. The electric heating pad has been my best friend since. Will I ever help with changing another flat tire, yes, but the chances of my ever lifting or manually moving another filled tractor tire is slim to nonexistent. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Watch your back if you're going to attempt a repair yourself.
