How Do I Get Deposit Back Suggestions?

The dealer is in NJ, I plan to make some calls on Monday to see what my legal rights are as some have suggested. Next door neighbor is a lawyer, I snowblow his driveway during the winter, so perhaps a letter from him may get the check heading my way sooner. Thanks for all that have taken the time to write back.

Sounds Like a great story for the local media. Your details make all the difference. Yes...GO TO THE DEALERSHIP!!!! Take the family and bring some friends too. Let the consumer reporter for the T.V. station in the Dealers area know about what happened. Begin your discussion of what they are going to do to fix this for you out in the showroom. Ask the staff that approaches if this is how they treat ALL thier customers. You need to get loud about this!

I understand the concept, BUT they did not live up to the contract we BOTH signed, i.e. car will be cleaned and inspected, if you read above you will see they did not live up to the contract specifications /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif, thus a refund is in order. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif My lawyer neighbor also agrees with me.

Latest update, got a call back, check is in the mail, have any of you heard that one before?? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifwe will see. Neighbor is on standby to write a letter.

Glad you got your refund, it seems only fair.

When I managed a Porsche dealership many years ago, had a local lawyer special order a 911 convertible. She wanted turquoise with a white interior. I took a $1000 dep, made her sign the sales slip that it was non-refundable if she didn't complete the purchase. One month before the car arrived, she bought a BMW - she wrote a letter and we gave her back her deposit. Took me six months to unload that car - finally traded it to the Porsche dealer in West Hollywood - they loved it!
