Kubota BX24
On my Kubota BX24, I'm trying to remove my rear fender so that I can get to the propeller shaft and replace a busted HST fan. I need to remove the lowering speed adjusting knob and the MMM height adjustment. I can't find a set screw or anything else to loosen. I've tried just pulling, but not too strongly. Any idea on how to get them off?

Also, I need to disconnect the electrical outlet. There doesn't seem to be a lot of working room to get to the connector. It's in between the fuel tank and a mounting backet. Do I just slide in a screw driver and lever it off?

Appreciate any good advice

I don't know anything about the other stuff, but the MMM deck height adjuster on mine was a push on and yes it is hard to get off.

TripleR,

If you have a heat gun, play a little heat on the levers knobs and they should start to move - they slide on and take a set in time.

This works unless someone added some weatherstrip adhesive, they will slide off with a little tugging.

Good luck!

Have you done a search here on replacing the fan? There have been many threads on this issue and how the fix was accomplished. From what I recall, most fixes were done from below without removing the rear fender deck. I believe the most common approach is to loosen the motor mounts and "slide" the engine and drive shaft forward to remove the fan.

Due to the difficulty of r&r of the fan, many of us BX owners have added a skid plate for protection. Give that some thought once you fixed yours. Good luck.

Study those threads. It will save you some work.

Do you have the kubota insurance. I believe it will pay for the dealer labor and part replacement less deductable.
