How do I remove the clutch from a John Deere LA 175 lawn tractor

Hi all,
I am trying to replace the clutch on a JD LA 175. I have done all the testing and find that the clutch apparently has a short and is not engaging. I have obtained the replacement and am wondering what the trick is to removing the clutch. Is there a special wrench to hold the "D" ring while I try to remove the retaining nut. Any help or tips are appreciated. No luck with an impact wrench yet at this time either. TIA,

Grip it above the clutch w/ a channelocks.

You can put either an open end wrench or adjustable wrench on the flat if you can get to them. You can also remove a spark plug and stuff the cylinder with rope to prevent the engine from turning when removing or installing. Normally the impact works the fastest at least for removal. Need to properly torque on installation to avoid bearing issues.

Gentlemen, thank you for your advice and assistance. The video was a great help. I would have never thought of stabilizing the crankshaft from above. I finished it up yesterday and everything is working like new.
By the way, I sourced the new clutch from DB electrical in Tennessee. They were helpful also.
